You are:
An Information Technology Project Manager V who thrives on planning and allocating resources for projects designing, developing, implementing and managing technologies.
Your job may engage your skills and knowledge with:
- Considerable knowledge of budgeting and planning procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of project management principles, including Agile project management principles, methodologies, and practices including work breakdown structure development.
- Considerable knowledge of project contract review and management.
- Considerable experience managing project types with phased implementations that include multiple business units, vendors, and consultants.
- Considerable knowledge of business analysis methods and application.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; negotiation and conflict management abilities.
- Ability to lead and work in a team environment.
- Experienced meeting facilitator.
- Experience with direct supervision of subordinates including goal setting and appraisals.
- Understanding of technology basics.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Competent with office automation and tools.
Examples of work you may perform include:
- Review and approve project work plans.
- Provision and procure resources and ensure assignment of resources consistent with overall project goals and timeframes.
- Manage interactions between governance bodies and project teams.
- Approve project deliverables, including those prepared by vendors.
- Minimize risk through leadership of risk mitigation planning.
- Document management, including version control and creation of project records.
- Track team hours, progress in terms of scope, and expenses.
- Develop and administer project budgets.
- Prepare and present information to management or the legislature.
- Supervise and/or mentor junior staff for both project and career growth; make staff development recommendations.
- Perform related duties as required.
Specific Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, information technology, or a related field
OR - Certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) and four (4) years or more of experience in information technology where the primary role was project manager AND one (1) or more years in a supervisory role
OR - Five (5) years or more of experience in information technology where the primary role was project manager, and two (2) years or more in a supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, information technology, or project management.
