SAP Technical SME/Interface Management SME
The SME will modernize interface architecture, ensuring compatibility with S/4HANA and reducing reliance on legacy point-to-point connections. Secret clearance required. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in computer science or systems engineering and has 10+ years of SAP interface-design and middleware experience (PI/PO, BTP, API management). They excel at untangling complex interface ecosystems and driving API-first standards.
Background
Within the Navy ERP+ modernization effort to transition legacy SAP ECC capabilities to SAP S/4HANA, rationalizing 100+ existing ECC interfaces is critical to future scalability and auditability. The SME will define criteria for interface retirement, retention, or redesign.
The SAP Technical SME/Interface Management SME will be responsible for the following areas of work:
• Evaluate 100+ ECC interfaces; define retirement/retention criteria.
• Design API-first, service-oriented architecture for future standards.
• Align interface design with operational goals and data-modeling teams.
• Document transformation rules, error-handling, and governance policies.
• Support procurement/deployment of interface-management tools.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience with SAP interface design & middleware (PI/PO, BTP, API management).
• Familiarity with Navy interface ecosystems (Maximo, EDW, SPS).
• Expertise in interface risk analysis and data-integrity assurance.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must possess an active (or interim) Secret clearance. Given lead time, new clearances applications will not be sponsored for this role.
• Must possess a bachelor’s degree in STEM or a business-related field.
• 10+ years of SAP interface-modernization experience.
Preferred:
• Prior Navy or DoD ERP-interface-modernization experience.
• Experience implementing API-first governance in large enterprises.
