Position Summary: The Senior Project Director – Spine will be responsible for the strategic product portfolio plan and development for the Medacta USA Spine offerings. Working closely with Medacta International, the Senior Project Director will support the organization in executing deliverables required in the product development process of the entire MUSA Spine Product Portfolio. This includes achievement of business plan projections, customer relationship management. This position is also responsible for the Product Management of the Complex Spine Platform for Medacta USA. Interfacing with key stakeholders (external, Nashville-based and Memphis-based), the Senior Project Director- Spine shall take all appropriate steps to meet customer and sales force expectations and resolve instrument and implant issues that may arise.
Job Specifications A. Knowledge/Experience: 1 Minimum Educational Requirements At a minimum the candidate must have a B.S. Degree in Engineering from an accredited university. A Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy may be considered as an alternative. 2 Minimum Experience Requirements Minimum 10+ years of field-based clinical spine experience. 3 Minimum Skill Requirements Excellent written and oral communication skills. Outstanding organizational development and demonstrated leadership qualities. Operating room experience with spinal surgical cases. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute multiple projects simultaneously. 4 Equipment or Machines Used PC/Microsoft Office software suite, Mac/iOS, general office equipment, orthopedic instruments, automobile, smart phone and mobile apps.

Principal Duties * Develop and execute strategic US specific Marketing Plan for Complex Spine Platform and additional product portfolio as assigned. * Ensure consistent messaging to design surgeons and non-design surgeons regarding the strategic direction of the Medacta complex spine portfolio * Actively participate in review meetings, support and observe clinical evaluation of instruments which are final instrument set candidates for the deformity platform under development. * Lead the US complex spine BOM using in-house developed instruments as well as off the shelf instruments to ensure we met the US markets expectations for the system release. * Provide scientific background and input to support the deformity planning, patient specific rod bending and intra/post operative monitoring platform * Be the US liaison/head quarter contact person and support for the intervertebral body fusion device and other development activities beyond deformity. * Review meetings/Product under development * Set-up and be physically present for prototype review meetings with US design surgeons by means of a webinar (or in person if appropriate) * Collaborating with appropriate Medacta USA and Medacta International personnel, execute and develop the MUSA Spine MyInstrument program. * Collaborating with Medacta International R&D and Product Management, execute development and evaluation needs assessments per the approved MUSA Spine budget. Provide needed compliance documentation for development and consulting activities. * Provide LMR support o Collect user feedback/observe surgeries in order to get first hand feedback from an engineer about challenges, route cause analysis and needs for improvements * Spine NextAR, provide technical support to set-up new accounts * Provide strategic Product Development input for MUSA Product Portfolio to HQ. * Develop budget and implement strategies for product plans (inclusive of off-shelf instrumentation, product line extensions, new product development process and controls, and competitive analysis). Collaborate with MUSA Spine management with support of R&D department in Switzerland HQ to gain approval and greenlight. * Develop and maintain good working relations with Healthcare Professionals (“HCP’s”), Switzerland HQ Engineering teams and MUSA cross-functional team members. * Working closely with Medacta International, develop deliverables and assets for the MUSA Spine Team and Sales Agents. Support sales force with in-depth product education tools and each representative (internal, regional and agent) are product portfolio proficient and technically trained. * Identify well-qualified key opinion leaders for training and educational purposes and potential product development activities. * Provide technical product support to customer service, sales force and surgeons. * Assist in support for all product portfolio labs and educational programs. * Research, analyze and remain informed about competitive products. Prepare competitive reviews and competitive to assist sales force. * Assist in educating sales force with design review, phases, regulatory and compliance initiatives. * Assist clinical research team with creating and monitoring spine clinical studies. * Able to effectively present product proposals to potential customers. * Travel of up to 60% may be required.
Occasional Duties Industry Conferences, International Congresses, Domestic and International Company Meetings, participate in select product management activities. Other duties may be assigned at Medacta USA’s discretion.
