POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Planner position is responsible for both supply chain management and sales operations support for Medacta Operations / Medacta USA. The position will work closely with the marketing team and logistic operations management to assist with forecasting/inventory planning Business Intelligence Reporting and conducting data analysis to improve our supply chain operations.  This consists of consolidating company forecasts, projecting forecast inputs and demand history to generate rolling 12-month sales and usage forecast for all product lines.   In this role, you should have an analytical mind and a strong business acumen. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail are essential. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s or associate degree with one to two years related experience, or High school diploma / general education degree (GED) and 7-10 years equivalent experience.

 

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 4 years supply chain or operations analyst experience. Medical device experience preferred but not required.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a requirement.
  • Microsoft BI development experience is required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Collecting and analyzing supply chain data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements.
  • Develop Microsoft Business Intelligence reporting for key business areas as needed.
  • Work with Supply Chain Analysts on warehouse improvements, pick/put away strategies, storage requirements, Safety Stock analysis, etc.
  • Recommending improvements to boost performance and reduce costs.
  • Coordinating with other professionals to implement changes and new systems.
  • Lead supply chain analytics with safety stock analysis, order to delivery times, excess management, and consignment stock assessment.
  • Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects (e.g. warehouse slotting, bin capacity, pick route planning, etc.)
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to develop / implement effective systems.
  • Track KPIs and report on performance.
  • Generate 12-month rolling sales and usage forecast.
  • Ensure that critical forecasting and inventory planning inputs and parameters are updated.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure that new product launch demands are appropriately represented in the forecast.
  • Extract and analyze system data to identify and recommend improvements to supply chain metrics.
  • Develop analytical tools and reports to manage supply chain performance.
  • Responsible for analysis and recommendations for Inventory Location optimization (including Loaner kits) to meet or exceed metrics.
  • Analyze inventory and prepare orders as necessary to support Medacta USA’s business requirements.
  • Interface with Sales Area Directors / Agents regarding inventory optimization and recovery
  • Lead quarterly Instrument and implant forecast preparation and reviews.
  • Follow documented procedures for all activities related to the Medacta USA’s Quality System. Additionally, create new documented processes to drive predictability.
  • Build strong relationships and Interact effectively with a sense of urgency.
  • Interface and collaborate routinely with Logistics and Customer Service personnel at Medacta International in Switzerland
  • Proactively review business processes to identify gaps to prevent service disruptions to our customers.
  • Work directly with senior management to rectify any identified issues and report as required. 
  • Ensure Medacta International policies are always met.

  • Interface and collaborate routinely with Logistics and Customer Service personnel at Medacta International in Switzerland.

  • Tracks performance on various operational metrics as requested.
  • Communicates with IT support personnel to enhance, modify, or add business intelligence tools to automate routine analytical reporting needs.
  • Communicate effectively with financial and sales leadership on opportunities and variances for investigation and course correction.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
