Medacta® is a Swiss-based orthopedic company founded in 1999, renowned for its innovative products and surgical techniques. POSITION SUMMARY

 The Academy Associate - Tech Focus, Medacta Academy is responsible for the ongoing as well as transitional or challenging case support in joint reconstruction with special focus on expanding new Advanced Technology markets as directed for new Agents and Direct Sales Personnel. This position will report to the Director – Medacta Academy. While highly focused in the education and use of various advanced tech applications including but not limited to NextAR, the Associate will also be responsible for understanding and providing support for primary and revision total joint replacement products and processes of Medacta.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements: B.S. Degree and/or certification in a medical profession or allied health field, or certificate of completion in a recognized medical tech/sales training program or demonstrated equivalent experience in medical device field in lieu of degree/certification.

 

Experience Requirements: Some experience in sales or customer service, experience in a health- related field of care or service is preferred.

 

Position Specific Requirements:

Hospital Credentialing: You will be required to submit appropriate health documentation to include but not limited to vaccinations, TB testing results, titers, etc.) and complete enrollment processes for 3rd party Hospital Credentialing Groups (HCGs) which may include other requirements as listed by each credentialing group.

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Sitting: Extended periods while driving, flying or at a desk or workstation.
    • Standing and Walking: May stand for extended periods of time in the OR. Walking may include long distances in or around medical facilities, labs, meetings, etc. for extended periods of time.
    • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry/move items of 50 pounds, such as medical instrument shipping containers, equipment, etc. within hospitals, confined areas and transport for pick-up or return shipping.

Additional tasks may require reaching, manual dexterity, and visual acuity.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

External: To include but not limited to Surgeons, PAs, RNs, Allied Health Professionals such as OR Techs, etc., medical office staff, hospital employees and administrative personnel, independent contractors.

Internal: To include but not limited to M.O.R.E./Academy Team, Direct Sales Personnel, Agents and Sub-agents, Marketing, Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical Research, Compliance, Finance, Customer Service, Operations and Human Resources.

Travel requirements: Must be able to travel up to 90%, including holidays and weekends if necessary.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Field Support and Territory Development

  • Supports new market expansion with new and/or transitional and challenging case coverage focusing primarily on the advanced technology arena as determined by the Director – Medacta Academy and within the total joint and sports medicine markets as needed.
  • Assist with local onboarding to include applicable MUSA policy review, MyOps training reinforcement and provide recommendations for streamlining day-to-day case coverage/territory management.
  • Available for surgeon demos, meetings and sales calls for new markets.
  • Available to provide on-site in-service and/or 1st cases support as well as challenging cases.
  • Assist in new markets to assure adoption and adherence with MUSA operational policies & procedures.
  • Priority availability to new Advanced Tech applications at the direction of the Academy Director.
  • Ongoing education is key to professional and business development and every attempt should be made to stay up to date in legacy, current and emerging Medacta products and procedures.

Field Product Training

  • Participate in organizing & running clinical, product and sales program training, in various locales and settings from national to local level.
  • Assists Academy Director as requested with Field Sales or Clinical Training efforts.
  • Work with the Academy team and marketing personnel to produce the necessary clinical/sales tools needed to advance the sale of all Medacta products.

M.O.R.E Institute Learning Center Support

  • Complement and assist Medical Education team in Learning Centers (LCs) and regional or local labs as needed to promote Advanced Technology options.
  • When requested by the Academy Director, attend LCs to educate personnel on system and/or instrument application, techniques, and clinical support including providing verbal technical assistance in the OR setting.

Administrative Duties

  • Understand, train, maintain, and follow Medacta International and Medacta USA policies.
  • Enroll in and maintain appropriate membership levels of all Hospital Credentialing organizations within your travel area.
  • Communication: E-mail, Voice Mail, Written, Presentations, Customer, and Internal.
  • Market Data: Competitive Activity, Area Business Environment, Industry Trends.

 

OCCASIONAL DUTIES

To include but not limited to M.O.R.E Institute activities, Area/National Sales Meetings, National /Local industry conferences
