Senior Accountant

Broadcast Management Group is seeking an experienced, Senior Accountant to handle general ledger, AP, AR, tax filings and corporate registrations.  The position will be responsible for business operations including overseeing; completing any credit applications when BMG is establishing credit, running credit check on customers that BMG extends credit, managing all book and financial records, including client and vendor contracts, as well as looking for ways to streamline business operations to allow BMG to continue to grow most efficiently.  Deep knowledge of GAP financial reporting required. This position will also be the backup person for the HR/Payroll position and will manage the accounting clerk.  


Primary accounting responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Make complex journal entries in a timely manner
  • Manage cost accounting for each of the company’s six divisions
  • Close out monthly books and run reports
  • Manage cash flow
  • Develop budget forecasts for each of the company’s six divisions
  • Updating division and company forecasts
  • Develop required financial reporting for financing sources
  • Manage floating reports and cash flow projections daily
  • Provide weekly financial summary reporting including, AP and AR reports
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting
  • Interfacing with outside accounting firm
  • Streamline operations and look for cost reductions
  • Sales Tax Filings
  • Business franchise fees
  • Business registrations


Primary business operations responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • On-going review of operations to streamline and add automation and efficiencies
  • Registration in various states and keeping up with local tax filings
  • Maintain good standing in each state that BMG operates
  • Personal property tax filings
  • Online record keeping of all vendor and client contracts
  • Maintaining of all company passwords


  • Must have expert knowledge of the most current Quickbooks software
  • Accounting degree
  • Extensive budgeting skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP financial reporting
  • Cost accounting experience
  • Payroll experience with Paychex
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and ability to take initiative
  • Attention to detail, strong follow-through and the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to travel when needed
