Position Summary

TCG Labs-Soleil is seeking an experienced and motivated scientist with a passion for developing therapeutics to join our Protein Sciences team and implement efficient cloning and expression capabilities in support of a highly productive therapeutic biologics Research team. The successful candidate will have extensive skills in molecular biology and experience in expression and purification of recombinant proteins using both transient and stable systems.   As part of an interdisciplinary research team, the selected individual will be a key contributor to the progression of an exciting and diverse therapeutic pipeline. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage molecular biology and protein expression efforts. 
  • Design and execute molecular cloning for antigens and protein therapeutics expression in high throughput manner.
  • Design and establish HTP transient expression of protein therapeutics in mammalian cell lines and implement automation using appropriate platform(s).
  • Develop and establish stable CHO expression system.
  • Accurately and consistently record cloning and expression progress.
  • Provide regular progress updates and present data at internal team meetings and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry or other relevant discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. with equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing direct report(s) and proven track record in drug discovery in industry setting.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about automation and new technology.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with various molecular cloning methods is required. 
  • Extensive hands-on experience with transient mammalian expression (HEK293 and CHO) is required.
  • Hands-on experience with automation using liquid handler is highly desired.
  • Solid understanding and extensive hands-on experience of mono- and bi-specific antibodies, Fab fragments, scFv, VHH, and various antibody-fusion formats is required.

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role will be $140,000 - $250,000 annually (not including discretionary bonus, equity, and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include but are not limited to relevant previous experience including duration and type of experience within the industry, education, and internal equity.
