Position Summary
TCG Labs-Soleil is seeking an experienced, passionate, and self-motivated scientist to join our growing multidisciplinary Protein Sciences group within the biologics Technology team. This critical role will independently design, execute, and interpret analytical and biophysical characterizations in support of a diverse protein and antibody focused pre-clinical therapeutic pipeline. This candidate will work closely with scientists across research and early development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement analytical methods for the characterization of diverse biologics with an emphasis on LC-MS and biophysical characterization to drive discovery programs through the research pipeline.
- Establish and validate robust biophysical assays to characterize therapeutic biologics (monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, etc.)
- Independently design and execute experiments, make detailed observations, analyze and interpret data, and deliver results in a concise and timely manner to the team.
- Establish and validate antibody-based functional assays and characterization processes.
- Manage CROs and external collaborations on analytical development.
- Prepare precise technical summaries, protocols and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
- Contribute to program team discussions as a functional lead to support program progression.
- This is a full-time and lab-based position.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent in a related discipline (e.g. molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, analytical chemistry) with 5-8+ years’ experience in protein and antibody characterization in industry setting, preferably startup or biotechnology companies.
- Expert in biophysical techniques including but not limited to HPLC, CE, SPR, DSF, DSC, SEC-MALS, and LC-MS analysis.
- Solid understanding of protein analytical principles and methodologies is required.
- Hands-on experience with protein PTMs characterization and solid understanding of attributes of protein therapeutic drug candidate molecules is required.
- Hands-on experience with protein/antibody biophysical assays such as SPR binding kinetics and antibody binning is required.
- Hands-on experience with developability studies on antibody therapeutics including bispecific and antibody-drug-conjugates is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience with membrane proteins is desired.
- Prior experience with IND filing is desired.
- Strong attention to details in experimental setup, capability to multitask and run multiple experiments in parallel without compromising quality.
- Experience with protein purification is a plus.
- Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills.
- Strong team working skills, flexible and able to adapt in new scientific areas and learn new techniques quickly.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
- Demonstrated scientific publication work.

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role will be $122,500 - $250,000 annually (not including discretionary bonus, equity, and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include but are not limited to relevant previous experience including duration and type of experience within the industry, education, and internal equity.
