About the Position: To support our ambitious goals, Soleil Labs is pleased to hire a Scientist II/Sr. Scientist to propel our in vitro pharmacology efforts. The successful candidate will leverage over a decade of high-throughput and functional assay development expertise in industry to validate targets and efficiently screen and select therapeutic candidates. A leader in the lab, this individual will be expected to be deeply passionate about bringing novel therapies to patients, creative and bold in designing and developing assays, and meticulous in optimizing assays and collecting data. The efforts of this individual will be critical to the discovery of a stable of exciting development candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of and data collection from high-throughput screening and functional assays
- Lead the design and development of cell/molecular biology assays to validate targets across a variety of therapeutic areas
- Carefully analyze, interpret and present data to key internal stakeholders
- Maximize productivity by actively prioritizing efforts with input from leadership
- Collaborate intensely with other members of our lean research team; work together and help each other reach our ambitious goals including mentoring junior colleagues in technical proficiencies
Qualifications:
- B.S. in biological sciences
- 15+ years of industry experience with extensive in vitro assay development experience across at least two therapeutic areas (immunology experience is preferred)
- Extensive experience in high-throughput screening bioassay development
- Technical expertise in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays (e.g., cell viability readouts, high-content imaging, FACS analysis and cell sorting, reporter assays, etc.)
- Technical expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology assays (e.g., construct design and production, ELISA, western blot, etc.)
- Strong understanding of drug discovery and fundamental cell and molecular biology, resulting in robust analysis, interpretation and clear presentation of data
- Collaborative, communicative, and flexible; eager to do whatever is needed to help the team succeed

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role will be $136,000 – $222,000 annually (not including discretionary bonus, equity, and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include but are not limited to relevant previous experience including duration and type of experience within the industry, education, and internal equity.
