Senior Manager / Associate Director, Nonclinical Operations

Department: Translational Research

Work Location:  Corporate Headquarters (South San Francisco) ~ 10% travel

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Senior Manager/Associate Director, Nonclinical Operations to join our Translational Research team reporting to the Sr. Director, Nonclinical Operations.

The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for contracted studies and will oversee the planning, execution, and management of nonclinical activities that support research, development, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures operational excellence across nonclinical study support, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of nonclinical workflows, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience working in regulated environments (GLP).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing study related activities supporting nonclinical research and development programs including planning, executing, management, and reporting of nonGLP and GLP studies.
  • Ensure alignment of operational activities with project timelines and organizational goals.
  • Track study progress and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate logistics for in vivo and in vitro nonclinical studies, including contracting, scheduling, material shipments, sample tracking, and documentation review (protocol, report).
  • Collaborate with scientific teams to understand study needs and translate them into operational plans.
  • Negotiate and review contracts with key vendors to ensure aligned with project goals, track project contracted budgets, and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Onsite study monitoring of studies to ensure alignment with protocol and TCG Labs Soleil quality standards.
  • Ensure study compliance with relevant guidelines (GLP, IACUC, EHS, AAALAC, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate documentation, study records, and operational logs/trackers.
  • Manage regulatory document reviews across research and development.
  • May include data processing to generate tables and figures to support nonclinical studies and regulatory documents.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, operations management, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in nonclinical operations or laboratory operations.
  • Strong knowledge of GLPs.
  • Experience with vendor management and vendor oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and project needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic systems (SmartSheet, ELN/LIMS, procurement systems).

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role as a Sr. Manager will be $122,500 - $218,750 annually and for an Associate Director will be $154,000 – 275,000 annually (both levels are not including discretionary bonus, equity, and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include but are not limited to relevant previous experience including duration and type of experience within the industry, education, and internal equity.
