Position Summary
TCG Labs-Soleil is seeking an experienced and motivated senior research associate with a passion for developing therapeutics to join our Protein Sciences team and execute efficient cloning and expression in support of a highly productive therapeutic biologics Research team. The successful candidate will have extensive skills in molecular biology and experience in expression of recombinant proteins using both transient and stable mammalian cell systems. As part of an interdisciplinary research team, the selected individual will be a key contributor to the progression of an exciting and diverse therapeutic pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Perform molecular biology techniques including high throughput PCR and molecular cloning, DNA mutagenesis, small to large scale plasmid DNA purification
- Design primers for DNA mutagenesis, cloning and sequence confirmation
- Track expression plasmid lots and confirm identity by sequencing
- Design and generate recombinant antigen protein expression plasmids for mammalian expression systems
- Perform standard cell culture support including maintenance of CHO and 293 cell lines
- Perform small to large scale transient expressions in CHO and 293 cells
- Perform fed batch cultures of CHO stable cell lines to generate recombinant antibodies
- HTP transient expression of antibodies in mammalian cell lines on automated platform
- Develop and generate antibody stable expression cell lines in CHO and 293
- Determine expression titer of transient expressions and stable by BLI (96 or 384 well format)
- Accurately and consistently record experimental methods, materials, and results
- Provide regular progress updates and present data at internal team meetings and departmental meetings
Qualifications
- M.S. in Molecular Biology, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry or other relevant discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or B.S. with equivalent experience
- Self-motivated and passionate about automation and new technology
- Experienced with various molecular cloning methods such as restriction cloning, seamless (Gibson Assembly) and Golden Gate cloning is required
- Extensive hands-on experience with primer design and PCR is required
- Mammalian cell culture experience is required
- Extensive hands-on experience with transient mammalian expression (293 and CHO) is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience with Molecular Biology and Sequencing as well as data analysis and visualization software is desired (i.e. Geneious, Graphpad Prism)
- Hands-on experience of mono- and bi-specific antibodies, Fab fragments, scFv, VHH, and various antibody-fusion formats is a plus
- Hands on experience with automated platforms is desired
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ability to work in a flexible-team oriented environment
- Experienced with cross functional collaborations and comfortable with a fast-paced work environment.

The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role will be $80,500 - $143,750 annually (not including discretionary bonus, equity, and benefits). The final salary offered will be dependent on several factors that include but are not limited to relevant previous experience including duration and type of experience within the industry, education, and internal equity.
