Looking for a career where you can make a difference in the lives of children and families? The Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (WWK) Recruiter at Arms Wide is the job for you!
Arms Wide is a child and family-serving organization with a 47-year history that is deeply committed to transforming the lives of children in need of safe and nurturing permanent families in Houston and South Texas.
The Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiter maintains a caseload of a minimum of 12 active youth and engages in child-center focused recruitment on the youths' behalf. The WWK Recruiter builds a relationship with the youth on their caseload and actively pursues locating a permanent family for the youth.
A key strategy in the child-focused recruitment model used by the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiter is to explore the child’s history and contact people with whom the child has a preexisting relationship (such as relative, neighbors, mentors, teachers, pastors, etc.) who may become potential adoptive parents or sources of information to find a permanent home for that child. Finding a family who the child already knows can increase the child’s comfort with and openness to adoption. Instead of working to find the right child for adoptive parents, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiter strives to find the right adoptive parents for a child.
