The Director of Foster Care Adoption is primarily responsible for leading the development and implementation of Arms Wide’s Foster Care Adoption programs in Greater Houston (and surrounding counties) and South Texas.  The individual in this position will work to achieve effective working relationships between Arms Wide and other agencies and professionals in the community.  The individual in this position is a member of the Arms Wide Senior Leadership Team and shares responsibility for overall leadership of the agency.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Master’s degree in social work, or Behavioral Science field PLUS five years of experience in a child placement setting; or Bachelor’s degree plus seven (7) years of experience in a child placement setting
  • Valid Child-Placing Agency Administrator License, or eligible and willing to obtain licensure within two (2) months of hire
  • Proficient skill in managing change
  • High level of organization, self-directedness, and enthusiasm

Experience/Skills Preferred

  • Five years prior leadership/supervisory responsibilities in related area of service

Travel Required

  • Reliable transportation/access to reliable transportation required. Mileage reimbursed.
