Position Summary:

 

The position is responsible for assisting with financial management and reporting management, forecasting and budgeting processes.  The individual also manages and performs the work related to monthly department budgets and budget analysis, monthly financial reporting and bank reconciliations, and participates in projects that require cost accounting expertise. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Performs all bank account reconciliations, and assists with reconciling accounts payables and accounts receivables on monthly basis.
  • Manages credit card transactions and reconciles all credit card purchases to monthly statements.
  • Assists with general ledger transactions and post entries, and with annual 1099 financial reporting and budgeting process.
  • Performs monthly budget analysis.
  • File state registrations as necessary.
  • Assists in preparation of strategic budgets for short- and long-term planning, and with financial models and other projects as requested.
  • Records wire transfers and payroll entries, and records special deposits.
  • Requests monthly invoices, etc. for processing, and update monthly investment spreadsheets.
  • Prepares yearly depreciation schedule, and assists in preparing and reporting on the annual financial and other audits as required.
  • Prepare correspondence as needed within the department.
  • Serves as back-up to Accounts Payable as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting, with at least one year working knowledge of non-profit accounting standards.
  • Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis, and month-end and yearly close responsibilities.
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting systems software, preferably NetSuite.
  • Excellent technical proficiency in MS Office applications, especially in Excel.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and oral communications skills.  Effective written communications skills should include experience in generating reports in both quantitative and narrative formats.
  • Must exhibit effective problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities that are complex in nature.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
