Title:                     Refugee Manager

Status:                 Full-time (temporary for 9 months)

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for providing leadership to refugee resettlement within IRUSA’s Domestic Programs. This position will also manage IRUSA’s institutional partnerships and government relationships that relate to refugee resettlement. He or she will also be responsible for managing the strategic direction of IRUSA’s refugee program and building the capacity of IRUSA local networks around the country.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        Manages partnership with refugee resettlement agency and community co-sponsors.

·        Manages the refugee resettlement team including couching and counseling as needed. 

·        Maintains recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training talent for the refugee resettlement team.

·        Provides strategic direction and oversight for the team to ensure ultimate compliance with refugee resettlement agency outlined requirements.

·        Resolves conflicts as they arise from project implementation or within the team.

·        Communicates with the refugee resettlement team on job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

·        Develops, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and quality standards and recommends improvements.

·        Manages budget, forecasts requirements, analyzes variances, and initiates corrective actions.

·        Represents IRUSA with internal and external stakeholders.

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Competencies: 

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work.

·        At least three years’ relevant work experience in the social service field, preferably in refugee resettlement in a non-profit setting organization.

·        Strong logistical skills with demonstrated success in managing complex projects and meeting deadlines.

·        Ability to manage multiple priorities that are somewhat complex in nature.

·        Prior successful experience in a deadline-oriented role with a sense of urgency.

·        Must possess effective interpersonal oral and written communications skills that include some exposure to grant writing.

·        Must exhibit cultural competence and sensitivity to working with diverse ethnicities and faiths; commitment to inclusive practices related to gender, age, and disability.

·        Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve objectives. 

·        Excellent record-keeping skills.

·        Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

·        Must exhibit analytical and strong problem-solving skills.

·        Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, databases, and social media.

·        Must be eligible to work in the United States.
