Position Summary:

The position is responsible for managing the design, development and management of US Seasonal and direct-service domestic programs that serve the community at-large and IR USA’s mission.  The management of programs includes the research, outreach efforts, development, planning and execution of programs that are connected to four sector of interest – food insecurity, refugee resettlement, health care and community development. The candidate must show the commitment to IRUSA’s faith inspired values and principles as well as a commitment to the vision and mission of the organization.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

        Manages the development, design and administration of Seasonal and Direct-service domestic programs.

        Evaluates existing programs for efficiencies and anticipated outcomes, and takes actions on improvements..

        Develop and maintain systems, processes and protocols for domestic programming. 

        Supervises domestic programs staff who assist in the planning and implementation of programs regionally.

        Oversees and supports proposal development, project design, project implementation and national planning efforts.

        Provide oversight to MEAL activities for all US seasonal and Direct-Service projects.

        Provides support to the quality of technical program proposals.

        Lead all Domestic Seasonal programming at a national level and coordinate implementation with regional staff.

        Serves as primary liaison to both internal and external stakeholders related to seasonal and direct programs.

        Provides support to senior management, internal audits, interdepartmental and external requests.

        Responsible for ensuring volunteers are engaged in all US seasonal  and direct service projects.

        Responsible for coordinating with the Operations Department on all US Program logistical needs, including the warehouse or storage needs.

        Assist Assistant Director of US Program with developing yearly strategies, operational plan and budgets.

        Performs other duties as necessary.

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

        Bachelor’s degree.

        Minimum 5 years’ experience working in program management, social services or related field.

        Prior experience in program management, monitoring and evaluation, and in full proposal development process for a foundation, non-profit and/or government donor.

        Strong project management experience with proven proficiency in overseeing and handling the prioritization of multiple tasks and deadlines.

        Must possess excellent interpersonal/oral communications skills, with the ability to communicate skillfully with external field offices/grantees/ the general public.  Must possess effective written communications skills.

        Must exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills. 

        Prior supervisory experience with working in, at minimum, a small team environment.

        Proven ability to exhibit cultural competence and sensitivity to work with a wide array of ethnicities.

        Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of databases along with internet research techniques.

        Ability to travel domestically to events or activities, and internationally, if needed.

        Knowledge of process improvement to assess for efficiency and effectiveness.

        Prior grants implementation experience.

        Must be authorized to work in the United States.
