Key Responsiblities:

·         Performs, executes, interprets and troubleshoots identity tests in a team environment.

·         Prepares and maintains test, reference, standard, mobile phase and derivatization solutions in accordance to the proper procedure.

·         Collaboratively schedules samples for analysis; ensures accurate data collection, analysis, and timely reporting of results.

·         Confirms the analytical methods selected for use are scientifically valid and fit for purpose.

·         Writes and evaluates TLC experiments for botanical identification for routine samples.

2.       Maintenance and Organization

·         Ensures and organizes and maintains departmental consumables, laboratory supplies, chemicals, and standards are in stock.

·         Performs daily, monthly and biannually maintenance of instruments and equipment.

·         Operates, Troubleshoots and coordinates repair and maintenance of instruments.

·         Maintains general laboratory housekeeping, disposes of laboratory waste according to company procedures, washes glassware, and ensures daily cleanliness of testing equipment and work area.

·         Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations. Uses proper personnel protective equipment at all times.

3.       Support of Quality Standards

·         Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of all general SOPs and applicable SOPs pertaining to the Identity Department.

·         Participate in the preparation and review process for appropriate SOPs, BTMs, worksheets, and forms.

·         Maintains appropriate documentation of records and laboratory notebooks as required by SOPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

·         Assist in creating, safely keeping, organizing, and filing records and documents associated with the job and required for cGMP or ISO compliance for Alkemist Labs.

Required Skils

  • Technical SkilsDemonstrated basic chemistry and math skills including the ability to independently execute quantitative calculations & analyze data.
  • Ability to to consistently and repeatedly prepare volumetric solutions & test solutions.
  • Acute attention to detail and competency in checking work to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Must read, write, and speak English at an advanced level.
  • Familiarity with the laboratory techniques and equipment applicable to various testing methods provided by Alkemist Labs.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products is required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of scientific and industry standards related to laboratory testing
