Scope
PAI seeks a consultant to conduct a market analysis of the responsible AI ecosystem. We aim to better understand the monetary value of the responsible AI ecosystem, and the impact of economic uncertainty related to responsible AI investments by corporations and other entities.
This short term contract aims to conduct an analysis to answer the following questions:
What is the monetary value of investments that US and non US corporations make in developing responsible AI?
What form(s) do these investments take (e.g. hiring in house researchers, partnering with outside groups and entities, endowing research at academic institutions, etc.)?
Will these investments increase or decrease in the short (1 - 5 years) and long term (>decade)?
To what degree will current economic uncertainty impact current and future investment decisions in responsible AI by corporate and other actors?
Are there certain aspects of responsible AI development, or AI related technologies that will attract increased investments from US and non US corporations over the next decade?
Are there certain AI related industries or sectors that will attract increased investments more than others?
What will be the volume (in monetary value) of charitable assets and contributions deployed towards responsible AI development over the next decade?
What are the best preliminary indicators of a positive return on philanthropic investment over time?
The above questions can be answered through desk research and/or interviews with experts. The output desired is a written report and/or a presentation deck.
