Immertec is an award-winning startup company in downtown Tampa, FL.  Founded in 2017, Immertec created a virtual reality platform for medical device companies to train physicians in real-time.  Immertec is looking for individuals who are passionate about creating new technologies and can work well in a highly collaborative team.  We are a growing company with a fast-paced environment.     

We are looking for an experienced researcher who is proficient in designing, conducting, and managing research projects.  Experience with writing and/or managing grants from large funding agencies is highly preferred.  Ability to develop and coordinate timelines, perform program management, collect data, and lead research assistants are necessary.  You will be joining a small but fast-growing team that is dedicated to producing high-quality research.  Our goal is to establish the efficacy of our product and to contribute to the scientific literature on an emerging technology.

Required:

-        Proficient in research methodology

-        Knowledge of human subjects ethics and experience writing Institutional Review Board (IRB) research protocols

-        Ability to lead and manage data collection in a variety of settings with diverse populations

-        Strong written and oral communication skills

-        High aptitude for new technology

-        Ability to work well with a diverse team of software/hardware engineers, computer programmers, designers, and medical professionals

-        Experience starting and completing projects with a high degree of autonomy

-        Strong organizational skills including maintaining deadlines

-        Excellent problem-solving ability and self-starter mentality

Preferred:

-        Research project management (budgeting, timelines, etc.)

-        Grant writing experience (please specify types of grant/agency)

-        Peer-reviewed journal publications

-        Scientific/academic presentations

Bonus:

-        Experience with user testing, usability analysis, and knowledge of design principles

-        Programming experience and/or ability to communicate needs to computer scientists and hardware engineers

-        Knowledge of statistical program(s)

-        Experience in medical or clinical research

-        Experience with virtual reality, augmented reality, or mixed reality technology

-        UI/UX wireframing or prototyping experience
