The Opportunity 


We currently have an opening for a key leader in our organization.  Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the Vice President, People will oversee all aspects of Human Resources and People for a growing global technology company with a team of over 100 employees and consultants located throughout the world.

 

The successful candidate will serve as the primary point person for all employment related matters across the organization and lead the development of key infrastructure of a fast growing start up. They will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding employment issues; serve as primary liaison to our national and global PEO and systems; ensure robust employee on-boarding and training programs; oversee payroll and benefits; develop and administer Higg’s employee performance management and D&I programs; and maintain Higg’s written policies and procedures for all aspects of its operations, including Higg’s office manuals and employee handbooks. Most importantly, the Vice President, People will support employee satisfaction, making Higg a great place to work .

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Guides and coordinates daily HR operations 

  • Provides consultative services and key HR data to the senior leadership team that impacts business initiatives and outcomes 

  • Develop metrics that guide HR effectiveness 

  • Provide leadership for Diversity, Inclusion and Access initiatives and programs

  • Leads a team of Human Resource and Talent Acquisition professionals 

  • Leads and supports organizational change initiatives 

  • Ensures employee engagement across the organization by developing and supporting a collaborative, creative, and fun global work culture for a primarily remote workforce

  • In partnership with the Talent Acquisition team, develops staffing plans and identifies talent to ensure staffing targets are met 

  • Manages the performance management process including goal setting and review process

  • Provides counseling and guidance to managers including the resolution of employee relations issues

  • Responsible for the development and administration of compensation programs 

  • Manage employee payroll and benefit plans in the US and globally

  • Manage the internal training and development program

  • Serve as liaison with external providers of benefits and benefits-related services 

  • Manage US based and international professional employer organization (PEO) for Higg

  • Serve as the in-house expert on HR legal matters in the US and other countries

  • Implement and manage employment policies, standards and procedures globally

 

Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes:

  • 10-15 years of human resource executive leadership experience required

  • Experience in start-up, high-growth environments required

  • Experience in payroll, benefits admin, and employee relations and investigations

  • International HR experience required

  • Experience designing, implementing, leading D&I initiatives, strongly preferred

  • Experience exiting a PEO preferred

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred

  • Leadership and development of advanced HR professionals preferred

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated strategic planning acumen and history of successfully managing HR activities across multiple business units spanning a wide geography 

  • Ability to serve as a strategic business partner and advisor to senior executives with a solid track record of achievement in the HR leadership function 

  • Ability to leverage key performance indicators that drive organizational success

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Enjoys a fast paced, dynamic, challenging and team-oriented work environment

  • Solid computer and business software skills in most major platforms: Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Asana, Dropbox, Google Apps. Advanced Excel Skills preferred

  • Flexible to work early or late hours and travel globally to support Higg’s employees

  • Experience working with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.

  • Passion for sustainability and impact, strongly preferred
