Who We Are:

Higg is a technology company on a mission to help consumer goods industries change the way things are made today, for a better world tomorrow. As the leading sustainability insights platform, we help brands, retailers, and their suppliers across the world measure, manage, and share data on their social and environmental impact. From materials to products, from factories to stores, across energy, waste, water, and working conditions, Higg provides the comprehensive intelligence businesses need to make better decisions for their and all of our futures. We’re seeing the hard work of our customers and team rewarded every day as the number of brands, retailers and manufacturers addressing their impact grows.

As Higg scales, establishing the primary levers of growth will require strategic thinking, business model analysis, and the ability to build partnerships that create revenue flywheels. In this regard, the company seeks exceptional talent capable of tackling a broad range of challenges, from optimizing our go-to-market infrastructure and systems, to establishing the new partnerships needed to deepen the Higg brand in core markets and extend it to new verticals.

About the Role:

As Director of Partnerships – Technical Integrations, you will drive business growth by building a partnership ecosystem, value proposition, and resource set based on Higg’s data integration capabilities. In the near-term, your efforts will center around the Higg API’s relevance to multiple current and emerging partner (and major customer) types, and in the longer term, you will also contribute to new, emerging Higg partnership offerings based on cutting edge data interfaces with global value chain companies and stakeholders.  Your work will help us more effectively reach the global supply chains in multiple industries through new, scalable partnerships based on strong business cases and valuable data integrations. These partnerships and the business models and implementation pathways we develop to enable them to scale, will increase the volume, quality, value, and diversity of the sustainability data we host. Along with talented partnerships team colleagues, you will support our Chief Strategy Officer in Higg’s overarching strategy to become the definitive sustainability insights platform in multiple consumer industries.

Integration-based partnerships are at the center of Higg’s growth strategy, and in order to advance our sophistication and capabilities, you will work cross-functionally within Higg, interfacing regularly with key colleagues in product, engineering, sales, operations, and client services. You will contribute to the development of the scalable business models and enablement plans that support successful operationalization and sell-through of new integrated partnerships. You will mentor and guide partnerships team members, and play a key leadership role as we scale the function over the coming few years.

As the ideal candidate, you possess unique skills or experience in strategic thinking, partner ecosystem development, data systems integration, business case development, complex project planning, and cross-functional leadership. You’ve designed and/or managed revenue-based partnership programs in other technology companies or similar industries, and have mastered an ability to collaborate through ambiguity in order to develop new systems and plans that may be clearly operationalized in support of revenue growth. You understand the balance between driving valuable, scalable partnerships and the primacy of data integrity, privacy, and protection. And you are an experienced strategic thinker and planner, capable of connecting near-term partnership and sales approaches to longer range corporate development and growth strategy.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute Higg’s partnerships strategy and resources for API and integration-based revenue partnerships, in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer and other Higg executives and staff members
  • Lead all integration-related planning, project management, and relationship management for data integration-related partnerships (including other technology providers, industry service providers, and major customers partnering with Higg for sell-through of our tools and data).
  • Actively steward integration-based partnerships from concept phase to full integration, through high touch relationship management and expert internal cross-functional coordination and leadership
  • Collaborate with partnerships team colleagues to develop a sophisticated and effective resources set and “partner experience” for integrated partnership candidates
  • Develop and institutionalize the internal work flows needed to fully operationalize successful partnership integrations
  • Serve as lead and expert within Higg’s revenue organization on partnership integration requirements, resources, and growth strategy
  • Collaborate with Client Services, Sales, and other key functions, to apply the systems and workflows you develop to our API-related offerings to direct customers
  • Support the Chief Strategy Officer, partnerships team colleagues, and other Higg team members in developing a comprehensive strategy for growing an ecosystem of revenue-generating integrated partnerships
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to partnerships team colleagues

What we’d like to see:

  • Demonstrable experience developing and growing successful, high impact, and profitable partnership programs in complex, technology-based industries
  • Several years of experience engaging with and, through cross-functional collaboration, driving the technological / programmatic enablers of successful new partnerships within an enterprise context
  • Clear understanding of, and strong track record within, data privacy and restrictions, as a guardrail around partnership modeling
  • Clear commitment to cross-functional collaboration, with a background in navigating and thriving within interrelated, contingent relationships in order to deliver new programs and strategies
  • Several years of client and/or partner management experience in B2B enterprise environments, or equivalent
  • Strong technological expertise within similar, enterprise software contexts; software architecture or development background a plus
  • High comfort level and experience with framework design and strategic planning; management consulting experience or similar background
  • Well-developed relationship building skills, willingness to advocate for partners internally, and drive partner initiatives across the organization
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a high level of energy, dedication, and an unrelenting drive to succeed and yet, be a team player and have a collaborative approach to winning
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A customer/partner obsessed mindset with a bias toward action, testing and learning approach and a willingness to learn from mistakes
  • A passion for sustainability and the role that technology can play in enabling a more sustainable future
  • An unquestionably strong background in people leadership and mentorship
  • Bachelor’s degree desired (Computer Science, Business Operations, related); MBA preferred
