Position Summary
The Infusion Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing infusion patient appointments to ensure timely and accurate scheduling. This role focuses primarily on appointment coordination, communication, and documentation to support efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for scheduling infusion appointments and maintaining the daily infusion schedule.
- Coordinate new patient referrals and ensure required demographic and clinical information is received prior to scheduling.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule infusion appointments based on provider orders and clinic availability.
- Maintain accurate appointment records and update patient information in the EMR system.
- Communicate with physician offices, nursing staff, and internal departments to coordinate scheduling needs.
- Notify appropriate team members of missing documentation that may delay scheduling.
- Provide appointment reminders and respond to scheduling-related patient inquiries.
- Assist walk-in or call-in patients with scheduling questions.
- Scan, upload, and organize required documentation within internal systems.
- Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
Required Experience
- Experience in medical scheduling, front desk coordination, or healthcare administrative support.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and data entry.
- Ability to manage multiple scheduling tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
