As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Business Development will lead the business development strategy, team, and efforts for the distribution and adoption of Airspace Link’s software and data products and solutions. Given Airspace Link’s unifying approach to UAS integration, this involves a thoughtful balance between delivering on revenue targets through sales and business development efforts for both government and private industry today, while also creating opportunities that bring in strategic accounts and partners who align with our long-term vision of enabling safe and scalable drone operations in all communities across the US, as well as abroad.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Build, lead and develop a high-performing team to create and implement business development strategies that align with Airspace Link’s vision

Create and implement Airspace Link’s business development plan in line with overall business objectives while striking a balance between short term revenue and long-term market expansion

Define new market segments, potential penetration rates, and product packaging and pricing, in close collaboration with the Leadership team

Assess competitors' and partners' business models, strengths, weaknesses, and likely future plans, while building win-win relationships with the industry, our partners, and our clients in both government and commercial industries

Work closely with the Leadership and Product teams to ensure products meet market needs and deliver on revenue targets. Provide timely & thoughtful feedback on market trends based on customer feedback

Pursue and close strategic new business opportunities focusing on predefined industry verticals both through individual and broader BD team efforts

Guide the Proposal Manager and oversee RFPs, RFQs, SOQs, RFIs, and grant applications

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Engineering, Aviation, Aerospace, or equivalent years of experience or education

Strong grasp of the UAS industry, or adjacent field, such as new mobility, robotics, aviation, autonomous transportation,

uncrewed air, or infrastructure

Ability to identify, support, and grow (SaaS, API, DaaS and new or emerging UTM) opportunities from the

early stages of development through maturity and deal closure

At least 10 years of experience in selling complex B2B SaaS, On-Demand, or Subscription Based products

and technology solutions to State and Local government and large commercial clients

People first mindset and strong new age leadership skills

Comfortable with navigating both in-the-weeds details and high-level strategy

Demonstrated relationships and strong network with decision makers in the UAS industry preferred

Part 107 or another pilot’s license a plus

Travel Required: Up to 50%
