JOB SUMMARY:


We are looking for a passionate Supply Chain and Procurement Manager to join our Team. You will be responsible for the procurement, supply chain management, of consumer goods sold in an e-commerce and retail environment.

You will be directing the production, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, or financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service, or safety. Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs. Direct the movement, storage, or processing of inventory.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, working with our inventory and logistics team in controlling inventory, warehousing, or receiving.

  • Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality.

  • Conduct a quarterly SWOT analysis within the department and implement new or improved supply chain processes to improve efficiency or performance.

  • Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as marketing, finance, production, inventory/logistics, or quality assurance.

  • Confer with Inventory/Planning to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products.

  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.

  • Take a proactive approach in continually establishing new relationships with suppliers, CMs, and 3PLs

  • Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.

  • Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.

  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, to provide performance feedback, or to discuss production forecasts or changes.

  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes and predict effects on supply chain activities.

  • Document physical supply chain processes, such as workflows, cycle times, position responsibilities, or system flows. 

  • Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with internal teams

  • Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution, storage, or inventory.

  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Plans, staffs, evaluates, and directs work of employees in the supply chain department. Currently, the department has one role reporting into this role, Supply Chain Coordinator. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; or an equivalent combination of five to ten years related experience and/or education/training sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred  

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, with excellent Excel skills

  • Experience with Quickbooks preferred 

  • Experience with Google Analytics and Shopify preferred

  • Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
