JOB DESCRIPTION:

SBI Consultants LLC is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for upper-level college students (juniors and seniors) or Master's degree students pursuing degrees in engineering, construction management, or related fields. Interns will assist project teams with planning, scheduling, cost analysis, and documentation under the guidance of experienced professionals.  

This is a part time summer position.  Estimated weekly hours - 20-25 hours per week. Duration June - August. Specific work days/hours will depend on project assignments and candidate's availability.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Summer Intern supporting SBI Technical group, you may be assigned the following duties: 

  • Assist in defining project scopes, milestones, and resource needs based on client requirements
  • Support the development and tracking of engineering project budgets and schedules
  • Help prepare internal and client-facing status reports and progress updates
  • Assist in the review of project documents and design deliverables for compliance with requirements
  • Monitor and report on project performance, expenditures, and potential risks
  • Participate in coordination meetings with team members and stakeholders
  • Support documentation and control of design changes, drawings, and specifications
  • Aid in preparing bid packages and other client deliverables
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success
  • Perform general administrative and support tasks related to project controls and reporting
  • Other duties may be assigned  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing their undergraduate degree or working on their Master's degree in an accredited engineering, construction management, architecture or related technical program with a minimum GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale, cumulative. Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and BlueBeam. Strong interest in project controls, cost analysis, and consulting work.  Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills.  Experience in the construction industry a plus. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time role.

Successful candidate must be a problem solver and a team player, who is able to manage time, plan and prioritize assignments to meet clients' demands and project(s) deadlines.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Exposure to CAD or other Building Modeling & Design Applications, Project Management, Scheduling, Estimating softwares is a plus  

 

COMPENSATION:

This is a part-time temporary hourly position paying $20 - $25 per hour.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Due to the nature of our business, the employee may perform duties at the Company's office, a client site, or, on occasion, may travel to project site(s).  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and use hands to operate telephone, type and operate computer and mouse. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear and bend and twist neck. The employee may occasionally lift and/to move up to 10lb and rarely lift and/or move up to 25lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distant vision.
