We are looking for Director of Operations to join our small but fast growing team to head up our grocery distribution and manufacturing operations. Our ideal candidate is analytical, passionate and skilled in setting up company processes and systems, and thrives in creative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do:
Distribution:
- Lead, grow, and improve the logistics operations and processes for grocery distribution
- Solve logistics problems in a scalable way that will support rapid growth as well as serve long-term business goals and strategies
- Manage freight carrier and distributor relationships, own and negotiate logistics contracts
- Responsible for shipping and packing budget, controlling costs and insuring product delivery from suppliers
Production:
- Manage manufacturing partners, inventory, and production schedules
- Identify ways to save costs along our entire supply chain
- Manage on time and growing fulfillment across all wholesale channels
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree plus 5-10 years of experience in senior operations role
- Experience working with food distributors such as KeHE and UNFI
- Experience working with Walmart or other key accounts a major plus
- Experience managing manufacturing/production for food products
- Proven experience collecting and analyzing data to optimize production, shipment dates, and align market initiatives and IT capacity with shipment calendar
- Experience in implementing warehouse management systems and directing operational execution of production variations, international product sourcing, delivery, and warehouse production
- Working on eCommerce technology solutions, including Shopify a plus
