-          Bachelor’s degree necessary. 1-3 years’ experience in an investment manager due diligence or related role preferred.

-          Progress towards CFA or CAIA designation preferred

-          Strong understanding of private investment markets

-          Detail oriented and organized

-          Ability to prioritize tasks and create structure in the face of competing demands while completing tasks on time

-          Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills;

-          Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-          Team player

-          Experience with Salesforce preferred

 

 

Job Description:                   


The investment research analyst will work in Pathstone’s investment research team. The team is charged with evaluating and recommending global asset allocation shifts and identifying and monitoring top performing investment managers across assets and geographies for the firm’s clients. The analyst will primarily be focused on the evaluation of investment opportunities in the private markets assets. This will include private equity, private real estate, private credit as well as investments suitable for clients seeking environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact profiles. The Analyst will report to the Director of Private Markets and will support other senior team members. Successful candidates will be passionate about investing, detail oriented, team players, self-starters, have strong problems solving skills, and strong writing skills.

 

     Job Responsibilities:            

                                                     -     Support ongoing monitoring and due diligence for the firm’s approved          

investments, including review of manager data and letters, conference call note taking, and document review

-        Manage a database of potential investment opportunities, review peer universes and conduct analyses to better understand potential opportunities

-        Attend and host due diligence meetings and calls with investment managers

-        Write investment memos in support of recommendations to the Private Markets Investment Committee

-        Provide analysis and support for the ongoing management of the firm’s private markets fund of funds series

-        Travel to investment managers offices across the country and selective international cities (travel expected 1x per month as health and safety allows)

-        Respond to ad hoc client and advisor inquiries as they relate to coverage areas directly or in concert with other research contributors on the team

-        Other ad hoc projects
