The team is charged with evaluating and recommending global asset allocation shifts, and identifying and monitoring top performing investment managers across assets for the firm’s clients. The analyst will primarily be focused on the evaluation of alternative investment managers including hedge funds and liquid alternative investments. This role will include the evaluation of investments suitable for clients seeking environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact profiles. The analyst will report to the Director of Alternatives and will support other senior team members. Successful candidates will be passionate about investing, detail oriented, team players, and have strong problems solving skills. - Bachelor’s degree necessary. 1-3 years’ experience in an investment manager due diligence or related role preferred.

Job Description: The investment research analyst will work in Pathstone’s investment research team. The team is charged with evaluating and recommending global asset allocation shifts and identifying and monitoring top performing investment managers across assets and geographies for the firm’s clients. The analyst will primarily be focused on the evaluation of investment managers across assigned assets. The Analyst should have experience and understanding of capital markets. This role will also include the evaluation of investments suitable for clients seeking environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact profiles. The Analyst will report to the Director of Long-Only manager research and will support other senior team members. Successful candidates will be passionate about investing, detail oriented, team players, self-starters, have strong problems solving skills, and strong writing skills.
Job Responsibilities: - Support ongoing monitoring and due diligence for the firm’s approved
investments, including review of manager data and letters, conference call note taking, and document review
- Review peer universes and conduct analyses to better understand and position approved investments, and recommend manager changes when appropriate
- Attend and host due diligence meetings and calls with investment managers
- Travel to investment managers offices across the country and selective international cities (travel expected 3-4 days per month as health and safety allows)
- Respond to ad hoc client and advisor inquiries as they relate to coverage areas directly or in concert with other research contributors on the team
- Other ad hoc projects
