This role supports the firm’s New York-Colorado office, from the Denver area.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in the financial management industry, specifically client operations and administration, investment analysis, or similar, is required. Past full-time office experience is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and client service skills. Being detail-oriented and understanding time-sensitive issues are extremely important, along with having solid PC and Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly Excel. Being comfortable speaking with clients and their other professional relationships concerning money movement, account openings, trades within accounts, and basic daily operations is a plus. The candidate will need to show a positive attitude and initiative in all aspects of the position, as well as demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks in the face of competing demands. At the same time, the candidate must be engaged in learning and growing and be motivated to take on new challenges. Strong verbal and written communication skills are important to the role. Basic understanding of investments including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and alternatives is a preferred.  Many of the clients served by Pathstone, and especially the Denver-based advisory team, are committed to ESG/Sustainable/Impact investing. Therefore, candidate must show a commitment to and experience in working toward the advancement of ESG factors. In particular, experience with investments that include a focus on environment/climate, gender and racial equity, and/or strong governance, either professionally or through demonstrated personal commitment as a volunteer, is strongly preferred.  Further, experience working with grantmaking foundations and/or nonprofit organizations is preferred, given the nature of the team’s client base.

 

Job Description: The IAS Associate will provide assistance to the Client Advisory Team in all manners of client service and daily operations, as well as administrative duties and special projects which can include preparing performance analysis, investment manager background, and client presentation material. They will provide support to the Client Advisory Team in the implementation of client investment strategies, including strategies that have an ESG focus. Draft letters of instruction, complete account applications, manager agreements and subscription documents, organize supporting documentation, and follow the process through in tandem with the firm’s Capital Markets Group. Act as information provider to accountants, banks, investment managers and other professionals also supporting clients. Due to the required expertise in all client operational matters, this role will serve as additional support in the quarterly reporting process, specifically in reconciling and otherwise reviewing client reports and in providing basic operational support to the New York/Denver office.  The position offers significant opportunities for learning about environmental, social and governance factors in investing and will contribute to the candidate’s knowledge of sustainable and impact investing.
