We are seeking a Business Analyst for data systems development projects that has a minimum of two years of experience.   The position will also handle Quality Assurance testing. This position is externally facing to clients of such systems. 

Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.  You must have experience in writing business requirements and functional requirements specifications.  It is highly desirable that you know enough about databases to construct queries against database tables, which will aid you in your ability to conduct analyses. Most of the projects you will work on will be in the data analytics and business intelligence areas, so experience with these types of systems is a plus. In this role, you will need to manage project scope, develop project plans, and work with the technical architect to develop testing strategy and project execution approach.

You must be able to discuss business requirements with a client and from that develop functional requirements documentation.  You need to be able to work as part of a team to develop a system to meet those functional requirements.  In addition, you will need to develop test scripts and assist in the testing of any dashboards or web applications as demanded by the functional requirements. 

Your responsibilities will include:

·         Determining what information you need to collect in order to develop requirements documentation

·         Facilitating meetings to collect this information

·         Documenting and distributing meeting minutes

·         Create process flow diagrams

·         Create wireframes

·         Develop test cases

·         Execute test cases for Systems and Integration Testing (SIT)

·         Supporting users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

·         Assist in ensuring a quality production rollout (for example, by smoke testing)

·         Estimate the labor it will take you to complete work, such as creating documents, etc.

·         Understand the scope of each project in order to identify change requests to a project

·         Manage your documentation in the correct repository

·         Review project documentation and provide feedback

·         Quickly raise and document issues that may threaten a project

·         Perform informal (i.e. non-classroom) user training on systems developed

·         Assist in researching solutions that may fit a client’s need

·         Research best practices

·         Occasionally, if part of your role, create or assist in the creation of systems that does not involve heavy coding, such as (but not limited to) Excel data analysis, pivot tables, dashboards, and simple columnar reports.

You will not be expected to:

·         Write technical documentation

·         Develop technical architectures

·         Program

This position requires a B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited university (or equivalent for degrees obtained outside of the US).  Your experience can be in any industry, but if you have worked in more than one it is a plus. Having experience working with large industry trade associations is also a plus.

You should be someone that enjoys working on more than one project at a time, as this is highly likely.  You should be someone who has a passion for developing creative solutions to widely varying business processes and enjoys making those solutions come to life.

This is a telecommuting position. You should have experience in working in a telecommuting environment and working collaboratively in real-time with other people via IM and voice.  You should have a dedicated and secure workspace and have an excellent and reliable Internet connection.  You are expected to have your own dedicated workstation that is secure and used for work. You should have experience in working with people that are located around the world in many time zones. You must be authorized to work in the US.  Some travel may be required.
