Processing Phlebotomist (hours 11am to 7pm)
Job Summary:
The job location is on Walnut Hill in Dallas. The Processing Phlebotomist for Rheumatology Associates (RA) receives and/or processes specimens from the Walnut Hill clinic and from at least 9 outside clinics via courier runs, performs clerical checks and support functions. Will also perform phlebotomy. Responsibilities of the Processing Phlebotomist include, but are not limited to the following:
- Processing of specimens
- Clerical duties
- Phlebotomy
- Support function
- Perform urine dipstick analysis and preparing urine culture specimens as needed
- Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers
- Consults with a clinical laboratory scientist or phlebotomy supervisor when difficulties are encountered in phlebotomy, test selection, or specimen processing

Required Skills and Education:
- High School Diploma/Ged equivalent required
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license or equivalent: Preferred
- Phlebotomy skills
- Skills in the use of computers and related software applications.
- Knowledge of safety and infection control standards
Experience:
- Clinical Laboratory: 1 year (Required)
