This job description provides a comprehensive outline of the expectations for a successful Director, highlighting the importance of both strategic oversight and hands-on management in achieving the institution's international enrollment goals and to successfully launch the new PHSU location in the British Virgin Islands. This position will be located in Tortola, BVI. Candidates must be able to relocate to the BVI no later than March 31, 2025. Relocation costs will be offered for this position.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Director will be the senior administrative officer responsible for the overall leadership and management of a new university location. This role involves strategic planning, academic administration, enrollment management, student services, and community engagement to ensure the institution’s growth and success. The Director will work closely with faculty, staff, and students to promote a high-quality educational environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Support and implement strategic plans to advance the university’s mission and objectives by successfully launching the additional PHSU location in the BVI’s.
  2. Admissions and Recruitment:
  • Oversee student recruitment, admissions, and retention strategies.
  • Implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract a diverse student population.
  • Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to develop effective promotional materials and campaigns.
  1. Student Services and Facilities Management:
    • Promote a supportive and inclusive additional location environment.
    • Ensure the availability of adequate student support services, including counseling, career services, and extracurricular activities.
    • Ensure a safe and secure environment for students and University community.
  1. Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the location's budget.
    • Oversee financial planning, resource allocation, and fiscal oversight.
    • Pursue funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships.
  1. Human Resources:
    • Recruit, develop, and retain qualified faculty and staff.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
    • Ensure ongoing professional development and performance evaluation.
  1. Community Engagement:
    • Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent the campus at public events, conferences, and meetings.
    • Assist in housing and extracurricular activities for the students
    • Promote the university’s mission and programs through outreach and advocacy.
  1. Facilities Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance and development of the location's facilities.
    • Ensure a safe, accessible, and conducive learning environment.
    • Collaborate with location's leasing partner to ensure adequate facilities and how to best position the new PHSU student community and shared services.

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong understanding of visa regulations and the international education market.
  • Proven track record of strategic planning and organizational development.
  • Strong management and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in healthcare education or a medical university setting is highly desirable.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree in international education, business, or related field preferred.

 

Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in international admissions, student recruitment, or a related field.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
