Remote Skidder Operator

Note - this is mostly a remote/ work from home (WFH) position but may likely require reporting in person to project sites or operation centers in the job location area.

Position:

Kodama Systems designs remotely operable machinery for forest management operations. We are seeking an experienced Skidder Operator to grow with us. The ideal candidate has experience driving skidders in person and is excited about further developing Kodama Autopilot, our teleoperation platform for forestry machines.

Details:

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Experience: Demonstrated ability to operate logging machines
  • Location: This position will begin as a remote, work from home position (WFH) with the plan of transitioning in-person to Kodama’s operation center as the company grows. 
  • Travel: Occasional travel to project sites
  • Hours: 30+ hrs per week, including extended work shifts given prior notice
  • Compensation: $25-35/hr, depending upon experience, including OT

 

Duties:

  • Remotely control log skidder on commercial operations.
  • Provide user feedback around the operation of remote logging machines
  • Coordinate with Kodama team to maintain machinery and develop the remote control system.
  • Follow Field Supervisor work orders.
  • Follow company safety protocols

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience operating logging machines, preference for skidders
  • Willingness to travel at times for special deployments and work overtime
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to sit for long durations and maintain sound situational awareness
  • Machine troubleshooting and repair knowledge
  • Willingness to work extended work shifts with advanced notice
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks
  • Valid U.S. Drivers License

  • $25-35 per hour, depending on experience (DOE), with OT pay
