This role is in Center City, Philadelphia. We are a hybrid work environment, and the expectation is that this role will be in the office 1-2 days per week, with the remainder of the week remote.

 

About The Position

Cabaletta Bio is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Human Resources Officer to lead the continued development and execution of a Human Resources strategy to rapidly grow a high performing organization and best in class company culture. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position will lead development and execution of a Human Resources strategy inclusive of organization development, staffing, compensation and benefits, company culture and people development.  In collaboration with the CEO and his leadership team, the successful leader will actively contribute toward execution of the company vision of developing and launching the first curative targeted cellular therapies for patients with autoimmune diseases.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the CEO to engage and manage a high performing leadership team.  Provide individual coaching and team effectiveness guidance and support.
  • Develop and continuously improve people strategy, processes, and policies to attract, retain and engage top talent through rapid stages of company growth.
  • Ensure continued hiring of exceptional talent through effective staffing and onboarding processes.  Manage outsourced recruiting, contractors and search partners for most effective and efficient hiring.  Oversee interview and hiring process to ensure effective decisions and positive candidate experience.
  • Develop and lead a high performing, fully engaged and diverse Human Resources team.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team in establishing an authentic, collaborative, inclusive, fun, values and performance-based culture and organization.  Become a trusted advisor on employee morale and organization health.
  • Contribute to business strategy, operational approach and company goals as a full member of the leadership team.
  • Serve as liaison with the Compensation and Nominating and Governance Committees of the Board, developing strong trusted relationships with Committee Chairs and directors.
  • Work with functional leaders to support and optimize organizational design and growth (procedures, structures and systems).
  • Establish and rollout annual objective setting, performance management, talent and compensation planning processes and assist management in the preparation and administration of same.
  • Lead the identification, development and execution of Leadership development and employee training programs at all levels.
  • Analyze, develop and evolve compensation and benefits programs to maintain market competitiveness and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead continuous development and maintenance of programs and processes reinforcing equity, inclusion and community engagement.
  • Implement and oversee administration of HR systems as applicable, and safety and health programs.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by developing trusted relationships at all levels, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and helping resolve work-related problems. 
  • Ensure establishment of a high integrity work environment with full compliance with US and International employment laws.
  • Review, endorse and/or make recommendations for headcount additions, staff raises, promotion and/or reclassification.
  • Direct the development, dissemination, interpretation and application of HR specific and general company policies.
  • Consult with legal counsel as appropriate on employment matters.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for human resource operations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Undergraduate degree required, master’s in human resources management, Organizational Psychology or relevant field preferred
  • 15+ years of human resources experience required
  • Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry experience required
  • Experience rapidly growing a small/start-up to mid-sized company preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill required, with an authentic, approachable leadership style
  • Knowledge of and experience with the full spectrum of HR functions required, from compensation and policy matters to organization and culture development
  • Outstanding integrity and ethical conduct
  • Strong team orientation and passion for continuous self-development
