About the Position
The Associate Director/Director, Network Planning will be accountable for leading the end-to-end network planning activities, inclusive of inventory management and performance management. This role will be responsible for leading the monthly network planning cycle to ensure long-range demand and supply balance, as well as a recurring inventory reconciliation process to capture inventory across our external network. To maintain supply continuity, they will work as part of a cross-functional team to develop and execute the supply strategy with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and execute on the tools, technologies and processes required for successful and efficient end-to-end network supply planning, inventory management, and continuous operational excellence
- Facilitate the monthly cross-functional network planning cycle, including managing the agenda and driving discussions to reach consensus on demand forecasts, production plans, and appropriate inventory levels
- Perform scenario planning to identify potential risks and opportunities, developing contingency plans to address fluctuations in demand or supply
- Present network plans, risks, and scenarios to senior leadership as required, and support discussions on proposed network expansion strategies
- Lead the implementation and ongoing supervision of a global inventory management process, monitoring the available inventories and identifying opportunities to optimize stock levels
- Help to introduce and champion tools to collect, track, and communicate key performance indicators regarding supply chain that drive operational excellence
- Support annual budgeting process by providing manufacturing plan across the end-to-end supply chain
- Actively communicate, collaborate with, and contribute to other functional areas including Clinical Operations, Quality Assurance, and Technical Operations to achieve top business results for the company
- Drive readiness initiatives for the transition from clinical to commercial operations, including scaling processes and aligning with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional supply chain team members, including Supplier Management and Patient Operations to ensure seamless integration of processes, alignment on priorities, and proactive resolution of challenges
- Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences or related field
- 10+ years relevant experience in supply chain planning with preference in life sciences manufacturing, process development
- Experience in biologics or cell/gene therapy preferred
- Strong understanding of CAR-T therapy manufacturing processes and supply chain complexities, including just-in-time manufacturing and cold chain logistics
- Thorough knowledge of GxP and regulatory requirements for cell therapy products
- Knowledge of GMP regulations and a commitment to operational excellence
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work across different departments
- Proven experience in demand forecasting, supply chain management, and production planning
- Understanding of business operations, financial planning, and key performance metrics
- Leadership abilities to guide and influence cross-functional teams
- Expertise in relevant software applications like ERP systems and planning tools
- Comfortable managing complexity and ambiguity
