Role Description

Northramp is seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst and Hardware Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead government hardware lifecycle management efforts and drive operational excellence across a dynamic federal environment. This role is engaged in the full hardware asset lifecycle, ensures CMDB and inventory accuracy, improves process maturity, and develops standards that promote consistency across the agency. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, project leader, and analytical thinker capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and federal stakeholders.

Daily on‑site support in Rockville, MD is required.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

  • Manage the full hardware asset lifecycle, including receiving, tagging, shipping, recovery, and disposal

  • Maintain accurate asset records and support both physical and logistical inventory audits

  • Prepare dashboards and leadership level reports on inventory accuracy and hardware KPIs

  • Process request fulfillment tickets in alignment with SLAs and customer expectations

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior analysts

  • Develop clear policies, SOPs, communications, and process documentation

  • Establish and manage processes for data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance across SharePoint, ServiceNow, Power BI, and other tools

  • Coordinate effectively with multiple vendor partners to ensure alignment and shared understanding

  • Must be able to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 pounds

Cross‑Functional Engagement & Program Support

  • Lead and coordinate ITAM‑related projects and workstreams

  • Develop and update policies, SOPs, governance documents, and process materials

  • Drive documentation, governance, and continuous process improvement initiatives

  • Partner with federal clients to identify evolving needs, emerging capabilities, and opportunities for additional support

  • Analyze system, program, and customer data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancing ITAM-HAM services

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HAM, building trusted relationships with federal clients and service owners

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including program managers and front‑line staff

The ideal candidate will also: 

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data‑storytelling capabilities

  • Stay current on federal IT, hardware asset management, trends, and related best practices

  • Manage competing priorities independently while maintaining high‑quality standards

  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to Northramp’s culture of continuous learning and improvement

Required Qualifications
  • 4–7+ years of hardware‑focused IT Asset Management experience

  • Experience working with CMDB and asset management tools such as ServiceNow

  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation quality

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement process‑improvement initiatives

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Desired Qualifications
  • ITIL, IAITAM, or ServiceNow certifications

  • Experience working within the federal government

  • Bachelors Degree

Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for access to classified information (including a security investigation and drug screening)
