Northramp is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team as a consultant for federal government clients. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience working within federal government environments and a proven ability to develop and implement enterprise architecture frameworks that align IT strategies with organizational objectives. This role involves direct collaboration with clients to deliver innovative, scalable, and compliant solutions to modernize their IT environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Architecture Development

- Design and implement comprehensive enterprise architecture frameworks, covering business, data, application, and technology domains.
- Align architecture strategies with the client’s mission, goals, and operational objectives.
- Ensure scalability, efficiency, and security in all architectural designs.
- Client Engagement and Consulting

- Partner with federal government clients to understand their business needs and translate them into actionable IT strategies.
- Provide recommendations for IT modernization, cloud adoption, and digital transformation.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and refine architectural designs.
- Technology Governance and Standards

- Establish and enforce architecture standards, policies, and governance processes.
- Ensure all solutions comply with federal regulations and security requirements (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST).
- Evaluate emerging technologies for suitability within the federal context.
- Solution Design and Oversight

- Guide project teams in the design and implementation of systems that align with the enterprise architecture.
- Validate technical solutions for compliance with established architectures and client objectives.
- Mitigate risks and address technical challenges during solution implementation.
- Continuous Improvement and Thought Leadership

- Analyze current state architectures and identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.
- Develop white papers, case studies, and presentations to showcase best practices in federal enterprise architecture.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the consulting practice.
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience working within or consulting for the federal government.
- Demonstrated expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, DODAF, FEAF, or Zachman Framework.
- Proficiency in designing architectures across business, data, application, and technology domains.
- Strong understanding of federal IT compliance and security standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP).
- Proven track record of delivering IT modernization, cloud migration, or digital transformation projects.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused strategies.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to pass, and maintain, a federal background check and drug screen successfully.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of Federal government enterprise architecture experience.
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL or COBIT
- Proficiency in enterprise architecture tools (e.g., Sparx EA, ArchiMate, BizzDesign, etc.).
Clearance
