Northramp is seeking talented, creative individuals to help us build something exceptional in the IT and federal markets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and managing cloud and on-premises infrastructure, with a focus on integrating platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You should have a proven ability to architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions that align with client needs and business objectives.

As a Cloud Architect, you will lead efforts to design and implement hybrid infrastructure strategies, integrating on-premises systems with multi-cloud platforms. You’ll partner closely with our federal clients to analyze system requirements, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure secure and seamless cloud integration. Your role will also include leading migrations, ensuring the hybrid infrastructure performs efficiently, and maintaining compliance with security and governance frameworks.

At Northramp, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality solutions to our clients, providing leadership in cloud adoption and hybrid infrastructure projects. You'll work independently and as part of a collaborative team, driving technical excellence and helping shape the future of our clients' IT environments.

We are currently looking for a Cloud Architect who will:

  • Architect and Design Hybrid Infrastructure Solutions: Lead the design of secure, scalable infrastructure that spans both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI platforms.
  • Advise Senior Leadership: Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership, including CIOs and IT directors, on cloud adoption, system performance, and infrastructure strategies that align with the organization's goals. Offer insights into cost/benefit analysis, migration plans, and long-term cloud integration strategies.
  • Lead Cloud Migrations: Oversee the migration of on-premises systems and applications to cloud environments, ensuring minimal disruption, optimal resource allocation, and enhanced performance across hybrid infrastructures.
  • Develop and Implement Cloud Security Best Practices: Ensure all cloud and on-premises environments adhere to security best practices, government regulations, and industry standards, while integrating robust identity management, data encryption, and network security controls.
  • Collaborate on Cloud and Infrastructure Strategies: Work closely with federal clients and internal teams to analyze system requirements, provide architecture recommendations, and ensure infrastructure strategies support business needs and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor, Troubleshoot, and Optimize Performance: Continuously assess the performance of cloud and on-premises systems, optimizing hybrid environments for scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Lead functional testing to ensure seamless operability and integration of new solutions.
  • Ensure Compliance with Policies and Standards: Interpret and apply relevant government policies, regulations, and IT standards to all infrastructure-related projects, ensuring full compliance and alignment with agency guidelines and federal laws.

Additionally, the ideal candidate can:

  • Tailor Technical Information to Diverse Stakeholders: Communicate complex cloud architecture and infrastructure solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with the organization’s objectives.
  • Develop and Document Infrastructure Policies: Create clear, concise documentation, including technical specifications, SOPs, and project plans, that support infrastructure management and operational efficiency for cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Negotiate and Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee relationships with cloud service providers and vendors, ensuring all services align with project goals, budget constraints, and security requirements.
  • Lead Cloud Innovation and Best Practices: Stay ahead of industry trends and advancements in cloud technologies, advising federal clients on the latest innovations and best practices for hybrid infrastructures.
  • Ensure Compliance and Security Standards: Ensure all cloud and on-premises systems adhere to legal, security, and industry standards, especially in support of public sector initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure design and management, including hybrid architectures that integrate on-premises environments with multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
  • Deep expertise in cloud technologies, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  • Proven experience in migrating on-premises systems to cloud environments with a focus on optimizing performance, security, and scalability.
  • Strong knowledge of on-premises infrastructure components (servers, storage, networks) and how they integrate with cloud platforms.
  • Expertise in cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and network security for hybrid environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Experience in documenting infrastructure strategies, including architecture designs, project plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and automation platforms like Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies for managing hybrid cloud infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies (FinOps) to help manage and optimize cloud spending across multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles, ensuring best practices in IT service management.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to support project management and agile delivery in IT infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in the federal IT space and knowledge of government policies and compliance frameworks.
