DuBois Integrity Academy (DIA) is hiring English, Language, Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic school year. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy’s academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement:  STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning.  We use theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curriculum to facilitate instruction and learning.   A combination of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and groundbreaking neurological research supports theme-based education as a means to improve the opportunities for success for all  learners.

 

We are seeking a passionate, highly enthusiastic teacher who will create and teach engaging, student centered lessons and have strong content knowledge in ELA. The candidate must analyze data, use innovative research-based strategies and ensure students' academic achievement while providing excellent customer service to students, staff, parents, and the community.

  

Position Summary:

Instructs students in ELA content area. May be designated according to subject matter/content specialty.  Utilizes current strategies and theories to plan and implement lessons. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Instructs students, using various teaching methods, such as lecture, audiovisual aids, demonstration and other materials to supplement presentations relative to specific content field.  

 

Assigns lessons and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate students’ progress, record results and issue reports to inform parents of progress.  Maintains discipline in classroom.  Supervises behavior outside the classroom (i.e., halls, bus, lunch/cafeteria, rest room duty).

 

Prepares course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.

 

Conducts parent/teacher conferences to review student’s progress, performance, and behavior problems. 

 

Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops.

 

All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.

 

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher required.

 

Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.

 

Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC.

 

Normal classroom/school setting.

 

Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day.  Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.
