DuBois Integrity Academy is hiring Computer Technology Teachers for the 2024-2025 academic school year. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy’s academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement:  STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning.  We use theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning.   A combination of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and groundbreaking neurological research supports theme-based education as a means to improve the opportunities for success for all learners.

 

The Computer Technology teachers will work in DuBois Integrity Academy’s elementary school.  Major elements of the job include introducing basic computer, keyboard and Internet skills; teaching students how to use design applications, computer-aided drafting (CAD) or manufacturing to develop technological solutions to problems; assigning projects so that students learn to deal with real-world constraints, such as time and materials; allowing students to unravel technological problems using a hands-on, trial-and-error approach; encouraging creative thinking with challengingoom projects; and helping students connect math, science and technological principles to everyday life.

Additional Job Information:

• Provide quality education for students in computer technology.

• Possess a working knowledge of Windows Office and educational software.

• Use a variety of instructional strategies and materials that are appropriate to the interests, learning styles, and abilities of all students in theoom setting.

• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction accordingly; and

• Create and maintain aoom environment that promotes self-esteem and is conducive to effective teaching and learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's Degree required or in process of certification

·         A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture

·         A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the DuBois Integrity Academy staff and professional learning community

·         Motivated to raise achievement to a high level for traditionally under-served students

·         Valid teacher certification in the appropriate content area(s)

·         Ability to differentiate instruction and teach consistently at level

·         Willingness to contact parents regarding students' successes and concerns without              belittling, arguing, or being disrespectful.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of curriculum and instruction:  educational planning, instruction delivery, classroom management and assesment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, perception and a broad knowledge of human behavior to understnd the individual learning styles of students.
