Music Teacher (K-5)

DuBois Integrity Academy is hiring Music Teachers for the 2024-2025 academic school year. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy’s academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning. We use theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning. A combination of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and groundbreaking neurological research supports theme-based education as a means to improve the opportunities for success for all learners.

Elementary music teachers will be responsible for preparing lessons and leading music class instruction for elementary school students. Teach students musical concepts and may lead choir and bands and activities. This position is often responsible for preparing students to perform at special events for the school, the community or at local competitions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a related field required or in process of certification

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Minimum of T4-Certification in Music

WORK EXPERIENCE: Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Communication.
Instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learner.
Student management.
Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional manner
Knowledge of school safety & security procedures
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

Teaching general styles of music
Teaching singing to students from beginner to advanced level.
Incorporating musical instruments and movement in lessons.
Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans
Inspiring and motivating (Middle School) students to extend themselves to after school music clubs
Building relationships and mentoring students.

Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person and various learning environments.
