DuBois Integrity Academy  is hiring  Teachers for the 2024-2025 academic school year. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy’s academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement:  STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning.  We use theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning. A combination of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and groundbreaking neurological research supports theme-based education as a means to improve the opportunities for success for all learners.

Middle school teachers provide a rigorous learning environment for their students, helping them develop as individuals as well as master the subjects they need to succeed. You will be responsible for developing lesson plans and then implementing those plans in the classroom, giving you the flexibility to tailor your lessons to both you and your students’ interests and strengths. This can extend outside the classroom, as many middle school teachers also assist with coaching sports and school clubs and extracurricular activities. More than anything else, middle school teachers must develop their student’s unique talents and foster in them a passion for learning and growing.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach students in a classroom setting, managing their work output in the classroom and behavior on a daily basis.
  • Develop teaching and learning materials for use in class, including lesson plans, exams and homework, homework and projects, and assignments that make use of all student skills.
  • Modify lesson plans and materials as needed to make them suitable for students’ current learning levels.
  • Monitor and track student progress and issue grades.
  • Maintain relationships with parents and legal guardians of students in order to keep them informed of their child’s progress.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, administrators, and teacher’s aids, to provide individualized support for each student on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with other teachers in order to share best practices and provide meaningful feedback regularly.
  • Ensure that students meet educational standards and school performance goals for their grade level.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of T4 Certification in content area 
  • Zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude and a sense of humor
  • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture
  • A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the DuBois Integrity Academy staff and professional learning community
  • Motivated to raise achievement to a high level for traditionally under-served students
  • Teaching experience strong preferred
  • Valid teacher certification in the appropriate4 content area(s)
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and teach consistently at level
  • Willingness to contact parents regarding students' successes and concerns without belittling, arguing, or being disrespectful

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiar with regulations and guidelines of Common Core standards
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of curriculum and instruction: educational planning, instructional delivery, classroom management and assessment
  • Possess strong human relation skills to meet the needs of a diverse population
  • Demonstrates initiative, perception and a broad knowledge of human behavior to understand the individual learning styles of students
