DuBois Integrity Academy is hiring Paraprofessionals for the 2024-2025 academic school year. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy’s academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement:  STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning.  We use theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning. A combination of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and groundbreaking neurological research supports theme-based education as a means to improve the opportunities for success for all learners.

This position provides support to teachers and building administration in ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment; and maintains strict confidentiality with respect to information concerning students, personnel, and other administrative matters affecting the district.

·        Assists in the classroom at the direction of the teacher or administrator, when requested

·        Provides supervision when students are outside at recess and inside during indoor recess by organizing activities and providing assistance when playing games; maintaining discipline and monitor student behavior.

·        Assists with supervising students before the school day begins and at dismissal to ensure transportation at the end of the day.

·        Provides presence and coverage in the cafeteria by assisting and monitoring students during lunch period; assist with cleaning the eating areas, such as wiping down tables, at the end of lunch period; instructional computer assistance; clinical aide assistance and personal care services.

·        Provides coverage to the detention area and hallways as needed.

·        During fire drills or other emergency evacuation of the school, the aide assists in ensuring a safe and orderly exiting of the building.

·        Provides assistance to areas within the school building including but not limited to the office, hallways, and restrooms.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Principal and/or Assistant Principals.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend and follow directives
  • Demonstrate knowledge of effective instructions, instructional delivery, classroom management and assessment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education- High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification/License - Georgia PSC Instructional Aide certification required. Paraprofessional Assessment test or College coursework at a minimum of 60 semester hours, 90 quarter hours or 1,000 clock hours or Associates or higher degree.
