DuBois Integrity Academy is currently hiring In-House Substitutes for its Middle Grades levels. DuBois Integrity STEM Academy's academic program is built on two main pillars that drive significant achievement—STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) combined with Blended Learning. We utilize theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to enhance instruction and learning. A mix of tightly-controlled behavioral studies and innovative neurological research supports theme-based education as a way to increase success opportunities for all learners.

In-house Substitutes perform instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent for a day or more extended periods. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be on-site daily during school hours to serve as a substitute teacher as needed.

• Present the substitute lesson plan and facilitate student completion of the lessons.

• Follow the guidelines established to monitor student attendance.

• Use resources that will promote high levels of learning and student engagement in the classroom environment.

• Work effectively with students, parents, staff members, and community representatives in providing a rigorous educational program.

 • Establish a classroom environment that is safe and supportive, where risk-taking is encouraged and students feel free to contribute their ideas.

• Provide clear behavior expectations for students and monitor student behavior throughout the class and school campus.

• Reinforce school-wide rules and expectations in the classroom and elsewhere on campus.

Qualifications:

 • Must possess strong classroom management skills that promote the learning of all students.

• A demonstrated commitment to protect the safety, interests, and rights of all students in the classroom and on the school grounds.

• Experience and interest in working with underserved populations.

• PSC certification is a plus.
