DuBois Integrity Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Elementary Dean of Students to support teachers in fostering a positive learning environment. This role focuses on student behavior and academic success by implementing proactive interventions, analyzing discipline data, and promoting a culture of respect and accountability. The ideal candidate will have experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and demonstrate strong leadership in student engagement and behavior management.

Key Responsibilities

Student Behavior & Support

  • Implement and support PBIS and other restorative discipline strategies.
  • Assist teachers with behavior management strategies to maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Analyze student discipline data to identify trends and develop interventions.
  • Meet with students to provide guidance and support for behavior and academic concerns.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans in collaboration with staff and families.

Teacher & Staff Support

  • Work closely with teachers to provide strategies for managing student behavior and academic challenges.
  • Conduct classroom observations and offer feedback on behavior management techniques.
  • Facilitate professional development on effective behavior interventions and student engagement strategies.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide behavior expectations and policies.

Student & Family Engagement

  • Organize and lead Town Hall Meetings with students to reinforce school values, behavior expectations, and academic goals.
  • Communicate with families regarding student behavior, interventions, and support plans.
  • Serve as a liaison between teachers, students, and families to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.

Data Analysis & School Culture

  • Track and analyze student discipline data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Use data to develop targeted interventions that support positive student behavior.
  • Support the creation and implementation of initiatives to promote a positive school culture.
  • Participate in school leadership meetings and collaborate with administration on school-wide goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, School Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching or school leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of PBIS and other behavior management frameworks strongly preferred.
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to use data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured school environment.
  • Experience leading student programs, meetings, or school-wide initiatives.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, 12-month position with some evening and weekend responsibilities.
  • Requires flexibility, leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
