DuBois Integrity Academy seeks a passionate and dedicated Elementary Dance Teacher to inspire and educate students in dance, movement, and creative expression for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will design and implement engaging dance lessons that align with state standards, promote physical fitness, and encourage artistic development in young learners. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging Spanish lesson plans that align with state and district standards, incorporating listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities.
  • Create an immersive language-learning environment by incorporating interactive activities, songs, games, and storytelling to enhance student engagement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback, differentiated instruction, and support to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date grade books, tracking student progress, assessments, and participation in accordance with school policies and grading guidelines.
  • Foster cultural appreciation and global awareness by integrating Hispanic and Latin American cultures, traditions, and history into lessons.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to integrate Spanish language instruction into interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, curiosity, and confidence in learning a new language.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and ways to support language learning at home.
  • Organize and participate in school-wide cultural events, performances, or language activities that celebrate Spanish-speaking cultures.
  • Stay current with best practices in world language education by participating in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in [state/district] or ability to obtain one.
  • Proficiency in Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Experience teaching Spanish at the elementary level is preferred.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate language-learning experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with language immersion or dual-language programs.
  • Knowledge of ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) proficiency standards.
  • Experience using technology to enhance language learning.

Working Conditions:

  • Classroom environment with interactive and hands-on learning activities.
  • Some evening or weekend hours may be required for school events and cultural programs.
