Primary Functions:

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for planning, implementation, and maintenance of MAP’s distributed multi-cloud infrastructure.  The Senior Systems Engineer will implement and maintain cloud-based security controls for MAP’s remote PC environment along with traditional/cloud-based IT infrastructure.  The Senior Systems Engineer will interact with employees at all levels and provide HIPAA and HITRUST compliant solutions that serve the business objectives of MAP.  This role reports to the Director of IT & Security.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure
  • Manage and maintain cloud services (including but not limited to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Azure AD, and Office365.
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Manage and maintain single sign-on (SSO) and multifactor authentication (MFA) systems.
  • Maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPN connections, and physical security infrastructure.
  • Maintain and manage security software platforms including but not limited to Mimecast, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft ATP.


Support Services
  • Provide Tier 2 remote desktop and systems support for end-users throughout MAP organizations.
  • Support IT-specific technical needs.
  • Creating and maintaining all best-practice documentation, including any written instructions or documents needed at the user level.


Departmental

  • Team Lead and escalation point for the MAP IT Support Specialist(s).
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge, understanding, and skills commensurate with the title of the role.
  • Adhere to all MAP Policies, Procedures, and Security requirements including but not limited to HIPAA and HITRUST.
  • Support development and implementation of HITRUST CSF and certification efforts.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but is expected to provide leadership and mentoring to junior employees.

Secondary Functions

Work Environment

  • Occasionally long evenings and after-hours work will be required to meet the needs of the company and its clients.
  •  The role may be conducted locally or remotely to the MAP corporate office.
  • Occasional travel may be required (less than 5%).

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements

  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure and Security Platforms including Microsoft Azure and Azure AD (required), Amazon Web Services (AWS) (required), Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) (required), Microsoft Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) (preferred), Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (preferred)
  • Experience supporting SaaS platform, including but not limited to 8x8, Atlassian Confluence, Box, Duo, DYN, Mimecast (preferred), Meraki Systems Mgr. (preferred), and Okta (required).
  • Experience support network & security hardware; Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti UniFi, and Fortinet (preferred).
  • Experience supporting Windows environments HIPAA or HITRUST compliant environment (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
  • Must possess strong analytical, multitasking, and organizational skills; strong time-management skills; strong process improvement skills; strong initiative (required).
  • Must possess excellent verbal & written communication skills.


Educational and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
  • 10 yrs. experience as a System Administrator/Engineer.
  • Requires a minimum of 1 industry-recognized certification in an area of technology specialization (Server, Storage, Networking, Software Application, Mobility, or Security).
  • 3 yrs. experience supporting technology in a healthcare environment preferred.
