Primary Functions:

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including payroll processing, purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Includes working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, reconcile accounts and tax payments. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience with QuickBooks Online and is familiar with accrual basis reports. Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of MAP, and all commonly owned and operated companies.

Responsibilities:

Bookkeeper Responsibilities

  • Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
  • Develops system to account for financial transactions by holding the chart of accounts, defining new bookkeeping policies and procedures as needed.
  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
  • Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Administration (AR/AP, & Payroll) Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting basic accounting and bookkeeping AR/AP functions, cash flow, daily bank account reconciliation, managing daily bank deposits, and financial management for multiple company accounts.
  • Prepare timesheets and process both bi-weekly and semi-monthly, multi-state payroll for all MAP commonly owned and operated employee groups in an accurate, timely manner; process off-cycle payments as needed for up to 5 entities.
  • Maintain payroll database; ensure deductions are calculated and coded properly, garnishments applied correctly, PTO balances are used per company policy and that these and other aspects of payroll align with organizational policies and best practices.
  • Contribute to a positive employee experience by fielding employee payroll inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and resolute fashion. Resolve any payroll issues and provide an appropriate plan of action.
  • Interface with the human resources, accounting, and finance department to provide payroll change information and assist in month-end close questions or discrepancies.
  • Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains company administration policies when necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and multiple states' payroll regulations, tax rates, and legal benefit requirements, including timely payment of payroll and benefit-related obligations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Secondary Functions:

  • Adheres and upholds MAP and all commonly owned company core values, policies, procedures, business ethics codes, safety/security, and HIPPA requirements/guidelines.
  • Coordinate, manage, and execute various assigned or ad-hoc projects, ensuring that the project plan tasks, schedules, estimates, and status updates are maintained.
  • Stewards all company resources appropriately.

  • Actively listen by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.


Educational and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of previous healthcare bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online and Intact accounting software experience required.
  • Experience with ADP, Paylocity, and/or TriNet payroll platforms preferred.
