Boght and Oakwood Veterinary Clinics are currently seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Cohoes & Troy, NY.
Who we are:
Located in New York's Capital District, Boght and Oakwood Veterinary Clinics have been providing quality care for patients for over 40 years. Our veterinary clinics are fast paced, high volume practices that service small/companion animals, particularly canines and felines.
Boght and Oakwood Veterinary Clinics are privately owned practices, located in Latham and Troy, New York respectively. David A. Wagoner DVM (RUSVM 90) started working at the clinics when he was in high school. Dr. Wagoner bought into the practice in 1995 and became the sole owner in 2011. Dr. Wagoner's main focus is exceptional patient and client care at a reasonable price.
It is important to note that Boght and Oakwood boast veteran veterinarians and staff who will greatly assist in the acquisition of a new doctor. Doctors are encouraged to practice their own unique skills and are not constrained by strict hospital protocols. In fact, we promote growth by allowing doctors to explore areas of interest.
Our practice is fully equipped for diagnostics, with in-house laboratory testing, flexible endoscopy, ultrasound services, and digital radiography. Doctors are expected to see a diverse case load, and have the dedicated support of full time, experienced veterinarians and staff.
About the role:
Staff veterinarians are responsible for day-to-day care of patients. Services range from nutrition, pain management, surgery, and quality of life services. Veterinarians are expected to both be knowledgeable in their field, as well as perform accordingly.
What you'll do:
· Morning treatments for hospitalized patients
· Morning surgeries and morning appointments (doctors have a rotating morning schedule)
· Afternoon appointments and client education
· Handling client phone calls/consultations (usually receptionists relay information to clients)
· Emergencies as they arise; It is important to note that there are many emergency clinic around us, so doctors do not need to be on call

Education and Experience
· All veterinarians are required to be licensed in New York
· Graduate Degree
· Experience is welcome but not necessary
