Mid-State Supply, one of Wisconsin’s leading wholesale distributors is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee our purchasing and inventory operations. This is a key leadership role that plays a critical part in driving supply chain efficiency, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans aligned with organizational goals
  • Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with vendors and suppliers
  • Manage purchasing budgets and track key metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to align procurement with operational needs
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement control procedures to avoid stock-outs or overstocking
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team to maintain a high-performance culture
  • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular audits to ensure quality and reliability
  • Continuously improve procurement processes, systems, and vendor partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/accounting software systems
